JUNE/ONGOING

Whistler Farmers’ Market (until Oct. 7): The Whistler Farmers’ Market returns to the pedestrian streets of the Upper Village Stroll, featuring local produce, tasty artisan foods, local artists, and entertainment. Times: Sundays and long weekend Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. whistlerfarmersmarket.org

Toonie Rides: Every Thursday night, the Whistler Off-Road Cycling Association (WORCA) hosts Toonie Rides with the sponsorship of local businesses and organizations. The rides are $2 (Toonie) with a Toonie Season Pass, or single-race entry is $2 for youth and $5 for adults, and are followed by an après event. worca.com

Phat DH Wednesdays presented by Kokanee (until Aug. 23): Test your downhill skills with competing locals and visitors alike. Races take place in the Whistler Bike Park with après at the GLC and prizes from sponsors. Limited to 200 racers, so register early, 4 to 6 p.m. at the base. Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert Series (July 1 — Aug. 31): Every year Whistler hosts an exciting series of musical acts featuring a variety of genres in Whistler Olympic Plaza. Free transit for weekend concerts all summer. For concert dates, times, and artists, see whistler.com/events/concerts.

Movies in the Plaza (July 5 — Aug. 26): On select Wednesdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. this summer, relax with friends and family on the Great Lawn at Whistler Olympic Plaza to enjoy free movies on the big screen.

Crankworx Whistler (July 21 – 30): This premier mountain bike event features freeride competitions, pro-riding demos, Kidsworx, and much more.

AUGUST

Pemberton Slow Food Cycle Sunday (Aug. 20): A 40-kilometre, pedal-powered trip through the Pemberton Meadows farmland allows you to meet local growers, sample and purchase fresh produce from the field, crafts, and much more. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tourismpembertonbc.com/slow-food-cycle-sunday

SEPTEMBER

RBC GranFondo Whistler is an annual road cycling ride on Saturday, Sept. 9. Cyclists start in Vancouver and ride the majestic Sea to Sky Highway on a dedicated car-free lane, finishing with a hero’s welcome in Whistler. rbcgranfondo.com

OCTOBER

Whistler Writers Festival (Oct. 12 – 15): Celebrating the written word, this is a chance to meet renowned authors, listen to dynamic speakers’ panels, and attend workshops, reading events, evenings of music, and engaging conversation.

Fungus Among Us Mushroom Festival (Oct. 13-14): Presented by the Whistler Naturalists Society, this two-day event includes presentations and walks guided by experts in this field, as well as a gourmet wild mushroom tasting on Saturday! whistlernaturalists.ca
