Welcome! Whether you’re visiting for the first time or are a regular, we think you’ll agree that Whistler and the Sea to Sky region offer not only breathtaking scenery, but also an exceptional array of things to do. So, whether you are here for one of the many events, have a pre-planned, adventure-packed itinerary, or just want to relax beside a lake, you are sure to find attractions to visit or activities to try that match the desired “speed” of your vacation.

Learn about Whistler’s distinctive whistling-sounding namesake, the Hoary Marmot — perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to spot one (p. 10); the Train Wreck turns 70 — take a hike to check it out (p. 14); lounge in the plaza for a summer concert or take a memorable heli tour (Why Don’t You, p. 18). Celebrate a Canadian art legend at the Audain Art Museum’s latest exhibition featuring decades of Takao Tanabe’s works (p. 22).

Get in some quality time with family — there are so many fun adventures to explore (p. 30), but if you only have a couple of hours, we’ve got you covered too (p. 36). If you are looking for ways to relax and reset, perhaps time on or near the water is more your speed (p. 38), or perhaps you are curious how the Sea to Sky area’s mountains, glaciers and lakes came to be (p. 44). Whistler has so many fabulous restaurants, but a select few have stood the test of time — we honour their decades of success (Timeless Tastes, p. 53); enjoy a chilled red wine with local sommeliers (p. 70); a lakeside lounge gets a refresh, and a beloved Village restaurant returns with a familiar, but fresh style (What We Love Now, p. 72,74). Locally owned shops deliver retail differently, so be sure to visit some of our unique, independent stores and shop local (p. 78), and much more!

We hope you enjoy your stay, and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
It is always our pleasure to share our latest issue with you.

Enjoy!
